Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Averatec Laptop, Freebsd
5.2.1 does not recognize udma100 on my hdd.
I've check the bios settings and have set varios
options.
auto, dma, 32bit mode, and PIO5 (on/off) but i still
cant get the drive to work at udma100.
the cdrom is in a diffrent IDE channel (1) so I dont
think that is the problem.
I'm open to any suggestions at this point.
after 3 days, my search has led me no where.

Jose Lima

I tryed to set hw.ata.tags=1, but I get: sysctl:
unknown oid 'hw.ata.tags'. my drive is supposed to
support this parameter..
http://www.gsp.com/cgi-bin/man.cgi?section=4&topic=ata
maybe this is no longer an option on 5.2.1-release
