HOW TO USE C-R-O-N?????

As has been pointed out, this will make it run every 2 minutes, not every 30
seconds. I don't know of a way to go less than 1 minute.

crontab -e
then put in
*/2 * * * * /usr/bin/perl /usr/scripts/my.pl
save and it should be good to go.
