multi-aterm?

Has anyone ever been able to get multi-aterm (materm) to work in
FreeBSD? I've been hacking away at it, but I still can't get it to
compile. I'd love to use it though, as I am a huge fan of aterm, and I'd
love a multi-terminal derivative.
