I'm using the stock images (xz compressed) from mirrors.

I fetch the archive, unxz, launch disk utility in OS X, press the burn button &
point to the uncompressed .iso file.

system starts burning & commences with closing the session.

I'm using RW disks but have tried a full & quick erase in between.
Tried using CDRW & DVD+RW media.

Do not have problems burning other BSD iso images on said media using same
burner.
