Proof # 2 for agp andwhy is gcc still at 3.4 for normal users?

As I said, once the agp was built and loaded, it worked.  I'll try an install of 8.x release in the next few days.  If the graphics work, then it is an OF glitch that should be noted. If it doesn't work, then I'll give the OF information and the other descriptions necessary. The only other thing it could be is an openfirmware glitch.
I'm trying to build gcc45 using http://www.acsu.buffalo.edu/~charngda/cc_build.html .
The reasons are for:
1) Making an llvm-gcc4X build on ppc32.
2) Having a "Just-In-Time" compiler to attempt a build of JaegerMonkey on ppc32.

I tried installing gcc42/43/44 and all broke with a not for powerpc architecture. Your note explains why.

On the link above: I removed the linux referrals and used ABI=32. Gmp and mpfr just built correctly. Mpc will be built next. Followed by the rest of the howto.

I can't answer the agp thing, I just build with it.  It provides absolutely nothing though, except a mostly useless /dev/agpgart (my machine is a single MDD).  However, system gcc on ppc is 4.2.1, just like on every other architecture.  The ports are broken, though, last time I checked.  I've managed to build gcc 4.4.0 successfully with some hacks, but nothing worth sharing.
