The first step I *always* do after installing X on a FreeBSD machine is
to make sure that there are no xorg.conf file in /etc/X11, then I run
X -configure
as root. This will write a basic xorg.conf in /root/xorg.conf.new, and
would be the best staring point if your graphics card is supprted by
Xorg.
Have you tried that?
