There's a package for cvsup in the Fink archive 
(http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/cvsup), and I  use it 
sometimes on my G3 (running MacOS X 10.3.9).
I'm not sure how they got it to work, but maybe we could mangle it to 
work on FreeBSD?
