Thanks.
I'm excited. As I will be looking for a OS X replacement ([I'm tired
of how OS X runs on an old computer] on a imac DV 400 mhz), I'm will be
looking to run my peripheries such as my scanner with sane, printer
with gimp-print, and my external burner with firewire (USB could be an
option). Open and Net bsds seem to be lacking in a lot of these areas,
on the other hand it seems that FreeBSD has sane down packed. Will the
mac-ppc version of FreeBsd have support for the areas mentioned? This
is my concern.
I read many of the correspondence at the mail archive. I also read the
installation guide but I'm afraid that installing is not an option
quite yet as it suggests to only install over a non-HFS+ partition
("free space" as created by disk utility). I have no such partition
but only HFS+ and linux ext3 partitions.
Andres
PS-By not a complete OS, I take it there is no desktop environment yet.
