hier(7) and linuxulator ports

Dear all,

What are the rules on laying out Linux software installed under
/compat/linux ?  Do we just copy exactly the layout that RPMs provide
except rebased under $LINUXBASE ?  I'm looking in this case at some Dell
software which would put a lot of stuff under ${LINUXBASE}/opt/dell
