OSX support is at a fairly preliminary stage. At the moment, pkg(8) can
be compiled and should work equivalently on OSX as it does on FreeBSD or
DFly. However, OSX currently lacks the package building infrastructure
with integrated pkg(8) support, so there are no widely available
repositories of OS X packages.
I believe the plan is to add pkg(8) support to MacPorts, but I have no
idea how work on that is progressing. Whether any other Mac group picks
up pkg(8) is entirely up to them, but they are certainly welcome to use it.
Cheers,
Matthew
