That shouldn't fix the problem, because according to the OP's error:

=> No MD5 checksum recorded for vim/7.2.041^.
=> No SHA256 checksum recorded for vim/7.2.041^.
=> No suitable checksum found for vim/7.2.041^.

Meaning, there is no checksum for the file with '^' in place of '%'.
