Hmm... that's too bad... the bug is related to pidfile.c missing in
libutil in FreeBSD 5.x. I don't exactly know what the right approach
here is: should I copy the file in the FILESDIR as a patch for now?

Or should I just reimplement it upstream?

I guess it's all the same, but I'd like to have advice from other
porters before hacking at this...
