Firefox, Mozilla, & Thunderbird won't start (again!)

Hi,

try running firefox as root for one time. I had the same problems with
1.1xxx and was told that there is some (unknown?) problem with
permissions somewhere.

The gdk-warning seems not related, I get it with about every gtk program
around here.
