Overcoming "NO_PACKAGE"

I use packages for local use (i.e. make ports on one computer, and use 
the packages on another computer on the same network).

Is there some command that I can put in /etc/make.conf that would 
invalidate the "NO_PACKAGE" line that appear in some of the ports 
Makefile's?
