HEAD seems to be broken on that server (plone.org) and returns 404 even if
the file exists. Grrr. I didn't want to use GET unless I had to.

HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found
Server: Zope/(unreleased version, python 2.3.3, linux2) ZServer/1.1
Plone/2.0-rc6 Date: Sun, 07 Mar 2004 19:59:07 GMT
Bobo-Exception-Line: 63
Content-Length: 1468
Bobo-Exception-Value: See the server error log for details
Bobo-Exception-File: NullResource.py
Accept-Ranges: none
Ms-Author-Via: DAV
ETag:
Content-Type: text/html
Bobo-Exception-Type: NotFound
X-Cache: MISS from www.plone.org

GET works fine however.
