Amending the missing interfaces to the list in
/usr/local/etc/netdata/netdata.conf fixed this issue:

[plugin:freebsd:getifaddrs]
set physical interfaces for system.net = igb* ix* cxl* em* ixl* ixlv*
bge* ixgbe* vtnet* vmx* re* cc* wlan*

Maybe the default setting should list all known physical interfaces of FreeBSD
and possibly do so in alphabetical order. It will save the newcomer some grief.
