During a recent round of 'pkg update', pkg decided to install bash and
bash-completion packages. Attempting to remove them results in sadness:
# pkg remove bash

I did not note any message in the pkg output indicating why so many packages
suddenly require the presence of bash, a shell FreeBSD has worked fine without
for some years.
I've investigated the ports entries for the above software and can find no
changes introducing dependencies on bash.
I assume this is some oversight on my part, but it seems to me that someone
enabled bash-completion support in some subset of this software which caused
this.
If this is not a bug, please let me know where I can read more about this
decision.
