It seems you failed the correct URL to download different platforms; from
https://www.freebsd.org/where.html

each ISO link points to
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/platform/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/ but exit
with 550 error code

Correct URL doubles platform info:
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/platform/platform/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/

I.E.: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/amd64/amd64/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/

Not a good start I'd say.
