            Bug ID: 231774
           Summary: net/dpdk: buildtools are not installed
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: ports-bugs at FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: dave at dogwood.com
                CC: bruce.richardson at intel.com
                CC: bruce.richardson at intel.com
             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(bruce.richardson at intel.com)

cannot compile example programs because
/usr/local/share/dpdk/buildtools/check-experimental-syms.sh is installed.

from the build log file:

Build complete [x86_64-native-bsdapp-clang]
Installation cannot run with T defined and DESTDIR undefined
gmake[2]: Leaving directory '/usr/ports/net/dpdk/work/dpdk-18.05'
===>  Staging for dpdk-18.05_1
===>   dpdk-18.05_1 depends on package: py27-pyelftools>=0 - found
===>   dpdk-18.05_1 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/python2.7 - found

this message comes from inside mk/rte.sdkinstall.mk at line 78 and seems to
prevent the install-sdk target from running.
