            Bug ID: 225030
Summary: mail/spamassassin stops daemon during 'pkg upgrade'
                    without restart
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Some People
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: zeising at FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: trashcan at ellael.org
             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(zeising at FreeBSD.org)
          Assignee: zeising at FreeBSD.org

mail> /usr/local/etc/rc.d/sa-spamd status
spamd is running as pid 13859.

mail> pkg upgrade -fy spamassassin
Updating poudriere repository catalogue...
[...]
Stopping spamd.
Waiting for PIDS: 13859, 13859.
[...]

mail> /usr/local/etc/rc.d/sa-spamd status
spamd is not running.

I do see the following issues:
#) Stopping of such a sensible daemon without restarting afterwards
leaves a mailserver unprotected with regard to spam.
#) There is no warning to the user provided in
   /usr/ports/mail/spamassassin/files/pkg-message.in

I would prefer that spamd wouldn't be stopped during upgrade. That
should be left to the administrator (as it is the case with all other
daemons I do have installed from ports sofar).

Regards,
Michael
