That didn't last long - it is now broken again (in a new and not-exciting way):

(0:1) test:~terry# /usr/local/bin/bsdstats-send
BSDstats runs on this system for the first time, generating registration ID
Posting OS statistics to rpt.bsdstats.org ... SUCCESS
Posting device statistics to rpt.bsdstats.org ... BSDstats failed: HTTP query
failed during system devices submission
