Coincidentally, there seems to finally be some movement in tools that depend on
samtools.  The rsem project just released a new version compatible with
samtools 1.3.  I'll attempt a Trinity build using samtools 1.3 and if I
succeed, will benchmark it for comparison with the samtools 0.1.19 build.  Hold
off on this PR until I report back.
