I updated rsyslog8 to 8.16.0 by changing one line in Makefile
PORTVERSION=    8.16.0
and removing
/usr/ports/sysutils/rsyslog8/files/patch-plugins_impstats_impstats.c'
'/usr/ports/sysutils/rsyslog8/files/patch-grammar_rainerscript.c'
'/usr/ports/sysutils/rsyslog8/files/patch-plugins_imfile_imfile.c'
'/usr/ports/sysutils/rsyslog8/files/patch-runtime_stream.c'
'/usr/ports/sysutils/rsyslog8/files/patch-plugins__omprog__omprog.c'
'/usr/ports/sysutils/rsyslog8/files/patch-plugins__mmexternal__mmexternal.c'
As the changes have been incorporated into upstream.

Please note that I successfully built this package on i386 and amd64 platforms
but have not yet completed functionality testing.  So heads up for those
wanting to upgrade, and hopefully this has saved you some work.
