I did find a greater number of issue-reports with this error message, but all
seems to be older and a problem of GitLab itself.

Last try:

Please create a new repostiory, clone it and than try to push it. And provide
the full production.log for these actions. Hopefully this gave us some clues.
Otherwise just the project itself can help.
