nginx and nginx-devel download http-auth-digest from
https://github.com/samizdatco/nginx-http-auth-digest but it's not maintained
the last 4 years.

Please use this fork instead: https://github.com/atomx/nginx-http-auth-digest

For example it fixes an issue with nginx not shutdown because the cleanup timer
always just recreates the timer every time the handler is called.

After you change the download url you can remove patch from
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=199758
