Dependencies from master branches on Github is very very likely untenable for
ports.

iirc, there was a fledgling implementation of a bsd.go.mk (possibly now in
USES=go form) that aimed to address the question of Go dependency management in
the ports framework.

CC'ing current lang/golang maintainer in on this, who may be able to provide
more detail.
