Sorry for the delay, one way to go about this problem would be to try and
submit (maybe cleaned up) code to upstream maybe?

But I had little success any time I had try to contact the developers for bugs
and such...

Btw, I tried to make the port a slave of net/mDNSResponder, but the
post-install rules are conflicting.
