There exists a config option (--enable-zippy)

I have created a patch which adds an option (ZIPPY) to enable it—thereby
leading to setting the configure switch and adding the file zippy.README to the
PORTDOCS list and altering info and manual page to mention it.

(don’t forget ‘-p’ when patching as ‘files/’ does not exist yet—i.e.
‘patch -p < patch-option_ZIPPY.txt’ in ‘games/xboard/’).
