I updated Thunderbird from 9.0.1,1 to 17.0.1,1, building Enigmail and Lightning. When I go to Enigmail to generate a new key, it causes Thunderbird to core.

Install latest Thunderbird, building with enigmail
Open "Key Management" from the OpenPGP tools menu
select "generate key" from the menu
