>Description:
Updating ports on a regular basis also updates port security/cyrus-sasl2 which is after the update version 2.1.25.
After the upgrade, no OpenLDAP server (net/openldap24-server/client) is capable of starting anymore! One will receive this error:
slapd not running? (check /var/run/openldap/slapd.pid).
Starting slapd.
@(#) $OpenLDAP: slapd 2.4.26 (Jul 8 2011 14:44:14) $
root at foo.bar:/usr/ports/net/openldap24-server/work/openldap-2.4.26/servers/slapd
slap_sasl_init: auxprop add plugin failed
slapd stopped.
connections_destroy: nothing to destroy.
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/slapd: WARNING: failed to start slapd
This error seems to be well know in many Linux/Debian forae! Why has it commited to FreeBSD port's system? It breaks LDAP!
>How-To-Repeat:
Simply do an update of your ports with a running/working OpenLDAP/Cyrus SASL2 system and watch what's happening when you try restarting your OpenLDAP backend! You're floating like a dead man in the water.
