The "legacy" nvidia driver (nvidia-driver-96xx) is not abi compatible with Xorg server 1.5.3. There is a beta version for linux, but nothing for freebsd as far as I can tell. I think this port should be marked broken when people try to use it in combination with Xorg 1.5.3
>How-To-Repeat:
Install xorg-server-1.5.3_2,1. The driver will break. Rebuild the nvidia-driver-96xx port, still broken.
>Fix:
There is no fix I know of. It seems people are waiting on nvidia to release an abi compatible driver. The work around is to use the Xorg "nv" driver instead of the nvidia driver.
