 alas I can not repeat the problem on a fresh installation of  FreeBSD
 7.0-BETA4 and tomcat55 package.
 
 What exact version of Tomcat port/package are you using?
 
 Is your Tomcat (the one that the ps command output shows) really started
 by the script? Usually, when started by rc.d script it shows up as=20
 
 www    23080  0.0  2.6 190300 26696  ??  Is    5:04PM   0:03.78 [java]
 
 What rc.conf tunables, related to tomcat55, are set?
