After completing the xorg 7.3 upgrade with direction from /usr/ports/UPDATING, there appears to be a problem with the x11/aterm port, where transparency no longer works and the terminal has all manner of garbled character artifacts when attempting to use coloring and/or transparency within an aterm window.

Running aterm from a separate terminal process yields the following errors on screen:

I have tried doing a forced rebuild of both graphics/libafterstep and x11/aterm and all dependencies after the upgrade, with the same results.

1) update ports tree to 2007-09-17
2) portupgrade -R xorg
3) run "aterm" in a xterm window
