You should try a port with SDL dependencies :-)

Get some coffee, get some beer, get some sex, wake up in the morning,
have breakfast, walk the dog, go to work, come back, see it finish.

The problem is in the constant repeative redoing of for example
libtool and gmake for which I hadn't found a solution yet.
