-------------------------------------------------
The perl installation (port or pkg) until today has the same behavior causing
spamassassin,f-prot mail-scanner and probably others to make DoS, with large headered emails, or virus storm........
>How-To-Repeat:
>Fix:
Fix? Hmmmmmmmm, not exactly, but....
In order to keep tha pkgdb updated keep your ported perl5.8.7 installed.
Download the source, and reinstall it, by using general commands like..
rm -f config.sh Policy.sh
sh Configure -de
make
make test
make install
---------------
After that, perl runs smoothly....
freebsd 5.2.1 with perl ported v5.8.6 runs perfectly..
freebsd 5.3 with v5.8.5 no problems...
