since version 0.25 of gdesklets threading got reworked
this means some things broke in multitail 0.1.6 (and earlier)

the author released 0.2 version of gdesklets-multitail which works
with recent versions of gdesklets again.

gdesklets-multitail is currently up to version 0.2.2
and downloadable at:
