I am miss or may be poor to descibe feature.
I see only general config merge.
What I need:
newsyslog.conf may be
1) /var/log/messages 644 5 100 @0101T JC
-- for small system
2) /var/log/messages 644 30 * @T00 JC
-- for large, UFS-based system
3) /var/log/messages 644 30 * @T00 C
-- for large, ZFS-based system
and introducing new system type (current default move to 'small',
introducing 'ufs') will be automatic mergering and result on 'ufs'
system automatic changed 1) to 2).
introducing 'zfs' -- changed 2) to 3), decomress log.
Or, at least, use different template based on system type (need save
this information somewhere).
