FreeBSD Port: ports-mgmt/pkg

Hello sirs,


The problem at hand is:
I have a problem installing pkg onto freebsd 9.3. My system is just updated from 9.0-->9.1-->9.3 (within the same day). The ports tree wasnt com piled from since the old ports format expired (either it was last year og early this year).. as everything broke due to a missing %T or something like that (though that it came from make).

Heres my problem from the terminal:

# cd /usr/ports/ports-mgmt/pkg
# make

installed with the old pkg_install tools.

To switch to pkg:
    1) Install ports-mgmt/pkg
       cd ports-mgmt/pkg && make UPGRADEPKG=1 install clean
    2) Convert your package database by running pkg2ng

Stop in /usr/ports/ports-mgmt/pkg.
# make UPGRADEPKG=1 install clean
{…..yada yada yada from make… ending with this.}
configure: error: Unable to find the libarchive headers

Please report the problem to portmgr at FreeBSD.org [maintainer] and attach the
"/usr/ports/ports-mgmt/pkg/work/pkg-1.3.8/config.log" including the output
of the failure of your make command. Also, it might be a good idea to provide
an overview of all packages installed on your system (e.g. a
/usr/ports/ports-mgmt/pkg/work/pkg-1.3.8/src/pkg-static info -g -Ea).
*** [do-configure] Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/ports-mgmt/pkg.
*** [/usr/ports/ports-mgmt/pkg/work/.configure_done.pkg._usr_local] Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/ports-mgmt/pkg.

I attach the logfile that the problem exists from, a list of all installed ports aswell. Can you advice me on how to come around this ?

Yes, it is.

You'd be better of writing to pkg at freebsd.org for questions regarding pkg though.
