On Tue, 15 May 2007, Tom Judge spaketh thusly:
-}I have attached some blogbench tests from the following configs:
Woo-hoo! Tnx heaps and loads Tom.
-}
-}Perc5i 4 * SAS 15K RPM 146 Gig disks in raid 5.
Hmm. This one was a bit troubling. It was only about twice as fast as the
SATA/RAID 1 I tested on our 860. I would have expected it to be much faster
than that, with the stripe across 4 15k RPM drives. Are there any known
issues with the PERC5i driver as well? Has anybody compared to any other OS?
My apologies if it seems like I'm fixated, I'm just new to FreeBSD on Dells.
I'm used to FreeBSD on several types of hardware, especially (now) old SGI
1100's where FreeBSD blew away anything I put up against it(well, anything
defined as Redhat, Debian and SuSE). ;>
