How do I read-in a txt file with /mark-up/'s?

	Hi People,

	I saved a text file from the web with what were italicized and 
	*bold* word in text markup.  I figured OOo-2.1 would
	automagically change the words to italics and bold, but not so.

	Is there a way of doing this, or do I need to do everything by
	mouse?
