openoffice module question

hi,

i write in english and french. my english version of ooo works fine, but i 
can't spellcheck when i write in french, it complains about missing module. 
when i'm starting build of french/openoffice 1.1, it restarts the whole ooo 
build!! is it going to overwrite my english install? (i want the program in 
english) is there another way to install just the french module, not altering 
my current installation any further?
