Yes.  avg@ & I have also noticed this.

I also noticed the 775 permissions but haven't installed it via a
package yet.

avg@ suggested $SYSUSERHOME/.openoffice.org/3 but I notice that OOo
used $SYSUSERCONFIG/.openoffice.org/3  - they appear equivalent.
