I've noticed this is a very frequent misunderstanding here. The term "newbies"
implies that people new to FreeBSD would find some help on the list. It's
difficult to determine how useful a list is for newbies which just offers
moral - not technical - support, but I like the idea anyway. Perhaps this
would be better as a moderated list, with an auto-ack that has a brief FAQ
about the purpose of the list? It's low traffic enough that it wouldn't be
difficult. Heck, I'll even offer to help moderate it (I have experience), but
the technical aspects of setting it to work that way, though simple, would
have to be handled by the list owner.
Is this a silly suggestion, or does anyone else think a moderated list would
work better?
