After some discussion between list members and Sue
(an advocate for the newbies list, and probably the
only source of "authority" here), we had come to a few
decisions for what to do with technical posts here. (See
the list archives for more info on that thread.)

In that conversation, we had expanded the FAK's
idea of "someone" in the above statement. She had
indicated that "more knowledgeable list members"
should try to sort out these problems.

(Not that I'm more knowledgeable on any of the technical
matters, but I have read the FAK, which assures that we
shouldn't see the questions here in the first place. More
knowledgeable in that sense.)

The idea of doing so privately seemed the worst
solution to me, giving no advice and leaving the thread
open.

With some free time this morning, and noticing that
quite a few technical questions had been asked here,
I thought I'd give some time to clean up the list a little
and redirect proper questions to questions@, or give
advice on writing a more complete email. (I could've
given links to official documentation here, but couldn't
think of any relevant articles.)

PS. I'm not trying to make those who hadn't read the
list charter feel bad (with this or other emails), just to
help the questions get to a proper forum.
