Sorry to hear the bad news Michael; luckily, according to Gabriel's post,
hope is not lost entirely. (you can get the cvs of wine too, look here
http://www.winehq.com/?page=cvs )

Failing all that, may I ask why you need the legacy app.s? Do you just have
a ton of data in a certain format? Or just no suitable alternative available
from ports?

I only ask because, one of the first things I set out to do on my box was
install wine and get my windows app.s working; I never really got around to
it, because I consistently found similar or better software available
through ports. In fact, I installed wine earlier today and really couldn't
think of any app.s I wanted to run. (the flash thing kind of sucks...,
otherwise my freebsd boxes are way more capable than any win. machine I
had.)

If the problem is data in some legacy format, you might check the conversion
utilities in ports.

Well, I hope you get it worked out. Or, that some crucial enhancement is
coming to one of these projects sometime soon.

Peace,
Clayton

PS. On a side note, I wonder if win4lin can be run via the compatibility
libraries... Sounds contrived, but it may work...
