Hi mike,

Welcome to the community. (Too many great things about FreeBSD to list
here...)

I mostly just wanted to add my own newbie experience from doing a make
buildworld myself. While I thought everything had gone great throughout the
process, I began to get some wierd errors from ipfw. (ipfw list caused a
seg. fault, as did the security output for 'passwordless accounts'.)

After learning far more than any newbie wants to about the files in /etc, I
finally found the solution buried deep in the ipfw man page. (Most of the
way towards the end, there's a little paragraph stating that you have to set
IPFW2=TRUE in /etc/make.conf before running the buildworld.)

It sounds like your right on track though. Good luck getting that quickcam
up and running; and, good luck in all your endeavors.

Happy Hacking,
Clayton
