portupgrade when running an application ?

Hi everyboddy,

I wonder if there is any probleme to upgrade an application when this
one is running ?

For instance, by now I am using XFree86 and I made a :

$ portupgrade -Rr XFree86

By the way, after the portpgrade, when does the new XFree86_4_03 will be
take in charge by my computer ? the next time I reboot ?
