Updated patch

I suppose I'll post my version of your patch. I'm far from finished, I'm still
digging. Far from a compete review but you get the idea where I'm going with
this. Plus style(9) improvements.

I've found a lot of this kind of stuff and panics in ipfilter.

I've given our friends at NetBSD a heads up too.
