This looks similar to what I reported in
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=239240.
Unplugging the LAN cable results in not getting notification in ifconfig of the
link dropping. Furthermore, Leaving the cable unplugged for any extended time
makes the interface unusable throwing "igb0: TX(0) desc avail = 1024, pidx = 0"
or "ix0: TX(0) desc avail = 1024, pidx = 0".
The interface will not resume working until a reboot.
