Hi.

I would like to note, that new 5.4 version of Multilink PPP Daemon was
released and available in ports (net/mpd5).

The main feature of this release is long-awaited ability to change
subscriber session parameters (shapes, filters, ...) on-fly without link
termination. It is done in quite standard way, as defined by RFC 3576
"Dynamic Authorization Extensions to RADIUS". Mpd implements both CoA
(Change of Authorization) and DR (Disconnect Request) requests, defined
by this RFC.

To provide this new functionality mpd should be built and running on
FreeBSD 7/8-STABLE updated after 2009-10-30, or patched with this patch:
http://people.freebsd.org/~mav/libradius.server.20090813.patch.

Updated manual can be found here: http://mpd.sourceforge.net/doc5/mpd.html

Special thanks to JSC 'Ufanet' (ufanet.ru) for sponsoring this work.

PS: Ancient (mpd-3.18) net/mpd port was marked as deprecated and will be
removed soon. Consider migration to net/mpd5 if you are still using one.
